I have to warn you… this is not your “sweet coastal home” we often see here. This is a coastal home with attitude! A coastal home with a hint of caffeine? Perhaps…
The interiors mix antiques with shabby-chic furniture in a very fun way. They also incorporate the new classic look of dark hardwood floors with all white walls, a combo sought by so many homeowners nowadays. Also, this home shows that you can create so many wonderful outdoor areas even if you’re limited with a relatively small lot.

Designed by Jordan Design Studio, Ltd, this coastal home is full of personality and it feels unpredictable to me, and that’s always refreshing.
Coastal Home
The foyer is fun and it grabs your attention the moment you enter the house. — We always love that, don’t we?! No one likes seeing boring foyers…
The blueish-gray stairs contrast with the dark hardwood, while the vintage “artwork” adds some whimsy touch to the space.
Entryway
A stunning credenza and a shelf with vintage corbels brings charm and interest to this foyer. I love the oversized elements found here.
Family Room
This family room is pure comfort! I love how most of the furniture faces the ocean views!
Transitional
This home is full of surprises.
The decor is very interesting here, but what I love the most is the architecture of this space.
Fireplace
Did I hear someone saying “The Flintstones Fireplace”???
Seriously speaking, I think this is really neat. I love how original it feels. It’s really beautiful!
Dining Room
Oh, this dining room is incredible! The chair covers are unique and the antique hutch is a timeless piece.
The chandelier and sconces were custom fixtures from Paul Ferrante.
The floor is a oak floor painted black with a low-sheen urethane finish.
Kitchen
How refreshing is seeing this kitchen! It feels so original!
The stunning hardware/handles are all antique one-of-a-kind, purchased from Liz’s Antique Hardware in Los Angeles.
Kitchen Design Ideas
This kitchen is small, so being creative with the space is a must. Notice this cute niche… it’s perfect to display beautiful glasses and vases.
Coastal Powder Room
I love the simplicity and the quiet lines you find in this powder room.
The mirror was from a local custom artisan. It is a metal channel frame and the mirror floats within the perimeter of the mirror frame, giving it a very unique relief.
Bedroom
This bedroom is full of special “treasures”. Take for example the headboard, which was an antique fireplace surround that was converted in to a bed by a local artisan.
The ceiling fan was purchased from Hunter Douglas.
Tulips
My favorite flowers… Yes, this place is perfect!
Beams
This bedroom has a very relaxed approach and I love that. It’s very inviting.
I also love the beams, the planks and the decor.
Sitting Area
Gorgeous ocean views can be enjoyed from the sitting area.
Bathroom
What’s not to love here? Luxury and rustic all in one!
The beautiful walls are large scale bead boards with a sprayed lacquer conversion varnish which gives it the clean white look.
The tub is a Kohler Vintage Free Standing tub with a cove-trim base.
The wood on the countertop is a stained, hand-hewn walnut with a marine finish (helps with water absorption) and custom cut by fabricator.
Tropical Coastal Home
Lovely in every detail.
Architecture
Beautiful architecture. They really used as much space they could on the lot. Privacy is added with landscaping and a guesthouse.
Window
I can’t get enough of homes with window flowers box. They’re always so charming! Also, notice the red window frame and the weathered shutters.
Pool
A small pool is all you really need. Less maintenance! This one has a spa and it’s perfect for this house.
Patio
What a dream! I love everything about this space, including the view of the terrace and the gorgeous landscaping.
Terrace
This is probably the most charming terrace I’ve seen in a long time. I love how cozy it feels.
Patio Decorating Ideas
That vintage clock is so cool! What a neat idea.
Steps from the Beach
Beautifully designed in a dreamy location.
Did you like this coastal home? What grabbed your attention the most in this house?
Hi everyone! I will have a very busy day… the kids are going back to school and I need to run!!!
I will make sure to enjoy some quiet time w/ my hubby at our favorite cafe… we deserve that after this busy — but perfect — summer!
Wishing you all a peaceful and fun day!
